About

Bored to Death book club was set up by two sisters who love to read, but couldn’t find other people to talk bookish with.

We both read mostly English literature and noticed that there wasn’t really anything in Rotterdam that catered to that. All the literary events were filled with the same authors and books you find at the top of bestseller lists.

How did it all start?

We were bored with the literary landscape in the Netherlands. It felt like we were missing out on so many awesome books no one else was talking about. We knew we had to take matters into our own hands and decided to combine our love of books with our love of hanging out in bars and bookstores.

From this, Bored to Death book club was set up! We started out hosting just one book club every month, but our book club quickly grew from there and now we host two book clubs, writing sessions, all kinds of other literary events and have this blog you’re visiting right now.

Contact us

If you need to contact us or want to send us things, we’d love to hear from you. We accept review copies, gifts, and bribes to nominate your favorite book for our book club. Send us an email to boredtodeathbookclub@gmail.com, to see what we can arrange.

Don’t forget to sign up for our newsletter so you will be the first to know when we are ready to take over the world.

And finally, our awesome logo is designed by Robin Stam. He’s the best and you shouldn’t be afraid to let him know!

    Dear Bored to Death Bookclub,

A quick question for you: I read that your free library left Restaurant Open in December. Where is it now? Since my partner and I started living together we have a few double titles and the free library would be a wonderful place to share them.

    Thanks!

    Nina

  2. Hi. I like your blog. All the book reviews and the opinions are just so fun and worth it to read. Haha. Just wanted to say that.

    Okay, bye.
