We all know a lot of movies and shows are based on books and comics, so isn’t it normal to be excited when that adaptation of your favorite piece of fiction is coming to the big or small screen? Sure, it can be disappointing, but that doesn’t mean we won’t be watching! This love/hate relationship will probably never change, so let’s just enjoy some trailers while we’re at it. We’ll share the newest trailers of TV and movies based on bookish stuff that we find interesting or awful or funny or just plain weird.

We’re having an action movie week here at Bored to Death’s adaptation corner. First The Gunman, based on the novel by Jean-Patrick Manchette and Cymbeline based on the Shakespeare play. And then we round it off with something completely different!

We are not blown away by this trailer, but the well has been running dry when it comes to adaptation trailers.

Cymbeline, after Shakespeare’s play of the same name, has had an action movie make over.

And finishing with The Sisterhood of Night about a modern day witch hunt, based on a short story written by Steven Millhauser.

Bored to Death book club is set up by two sisters who love to read and have nothing better to do than to start a book club.
