Most of you who’ve ordered the Boredom Box should have time to open it and marvel about the contents inside. However, we didn’t want to deprive anyone who didn’t order a box a look into the inside and the possibility to back-order one for themselves!
So here it is!
In the picture you will see two books. The first one is Dept. of Speculation by Jenny Offill, an amazing look into a modern marriage that will leave you feeling all the feels after you’ve read it.
Then moving on to the second book, we’ve got American Dream Machine by Matthew Specktor. A special signed edition especially for the Bored to Death book club! The book is about Hollywood in the 60’s/70’s, the movie business and fatherhood. A riveting read!
Besides the books we have very special bookish goodies.
Starting with the postcard by Cedar Myna who made travel cards from fictional places. We have three different versions, Oz, Narnia and Wonderland. Which one did you get?
Maidie van den Bos from Onkruidthee made a special Bored to Death book club blend to accompany your reading. She plucks the tea herself and made us a calming cuppa to enjoy.
And lastly we asked illustrator Jeroen van de Ruit to whip us up a bookish poster. He decided on a short story by Roald Dahl – The Landlady – and drew us a somewhat eerie picture to go along with the tea. The poster was also especially made for our book club, so you won’t come across anyone else having the same pretty hanging on the wall.
That was our first Boredom Box! If you still want to order one, we do still have a handful in stock. Order it here or send us an email at firstname.lastname@example.org. We would also love to hear your thoughts on the box or any improvements so we can make the next one even better!
